Your relationship with time is...complicated. Most days you complain that you don't have enough time to do what you want. Then other days you wasted your time bingeing on Netflix and hating yourself afterwards.
How you interact with the 24 hours you’re given everyday affects every area of your life. Stop feeling guilty for not checking boxes off your TO-DO list. Instead, learn to CREATE the time you want.
Play this next time you feel stuck:
- Break your goal down. Turn your goal into smaller tasks that will take you 15 minutes or less to complete. So instead of setting a goal to write a new bio for your website, break it down into these tasks: find 5 great ABOUT ME pages, outline my new bio, write the first draft of my bio, send it to my boo for feedback, etc.
- Reward yourself along the way. Set mini-goals every week and reward yourself when you reach them. Sure you can treat yourself to dinner or that quartz ring you've been eyeing on Etsy, but your reward doesn't have to cost you money. You can also treat yourself to an afternoon off to sunbathe in the park. Or an Orphan Black marathon on a Sunday.
- Stop doing things that take up a lot of your time and energy but have nothing to do with your goals. Fill in your schedule with the essentials first (like work or doctor's appointments), then add in self-care. Then use the rest of your time to work on the goals that will bring you closer to the life you want to live.
