French characteristic is just like Mandarin it's easier to learn than what people think. The main thing to know is that there is a big difference between written French and spoken French. In spoken French, you can communicate without using many tenses yet still be very descriptive and accurate when it comes to grammar. For example, you can talk about something happening in the future using the default present tense, just adding a word like ""tomorrow"", ""tonight"" or ""later"". Also, people talk a lot about conjugation, but in most cases endings are silent, so you don't actually hear the difference, you only see it in writing. So it's just like in Mandarin, it's not because a character is complex to write that it makes the word difficult to use on a daily basis.
